Project Introduction

The younger generation is the target market for the contemporary banking brand Volt. I developed a number of UI Designs for the brand's Landing Page Website as well as the entire brand from scratch.

Defining Brand Values

I started this project by coming up with a variety of concepts to describe the brand's core principles and values. The user needs to have faith in the current banking industry, especially as we transition to a world where everything is digital. I intended this brand to be about investing in the future and assisting customers in accumulating wealth by giving them the finest options.

Sketching & Ideation

I started by creating a range of wordmark concepts and experimenting with various typography styles to establish the project's visual identity. When I came up with an idea I liked, I wanted to find a typeface that would fit the concept without requiring too much tinkering. I began experimenting with several typefaces for this purpose and analysing their qualities to determine which typeface had the characteristics I was seeking in my logo.

Testing Typefaces

After selecting a few typefaces that closely matched the characteristics I wanted to incorporate in my wordmark logo, I continued to research each typeface to gain a better understanding of what I would need to do to realize my wordmark logo idea. This covered what I discovered to work well with the typeface, what didn't, and what would need to be adjusted to enable me to create the desired design. Mundial was the closest match to what I was looking for for my project and was a free typeface, so I avoided having to pay for licensing.

Responsive Logo Suite

I wanted to build some concepts for a logomark after creating a wordmark logo so I could have two instantly recognizable identities for the business that could be mixed based on the product. I wanted to investigate more analog and conventional banking methods for the brand's visual identity, which gave me the notion of bank safes and vaults. In addition to having several ways I could combine the visual mark and wordmark to create a responsive logo suite for the business, this proposal had a connection to the brand values I had selected at the beginning of the project.
